I'm very curious in finding out which type of cpu exists among the general pop.
Tell your cpu.... and give it a rating..use the letter grade scale "A" thru "F".
I'll start:
K6/2-350.......B-

Yes, are we in the contest of the championship for the National Cpu Federation? I'm sorry but I am watching too much wrestling lately.
Well, I will give you my rating according to my own standards:
Pentium 2-350 Server and Windows 98, A- with 256 megs. I am looking for life at 400 mhz.I use for general accounting and to keep track of the sales. Main system--Shuttle motherboard
Celeron 333a Windows 98, 128 megs A- or B+
My wife uses for her classes on webpage design. It really surprised me that a chip could work so well with only 128 kb cache.Diamond Micronics C300 (only paid 39.99 for the motherboard.)
AMd 400 Nt Workstation and windows 98 128 megs. For the business and surf the net. B+ Some problems with compatibility with my cdrom burner. It is not the best system but I learned to live with it.
Cyrix 300 m2, 64 megs. It is adequate but it is not the most reliable system. I only use in an emergency. (Amptron Pm9100)
I have read that there is a motherboard with 200mhz in the near future. Looking forward.

First, the relativly new chips...
P-2 300=c- (cannot be overclocked more that 333)
P-2 450=B+
Celeron PPGA w/slotkit 300A=A+
M2 300=D-
Now, onto the old chips...
486DX 40, AMD=B- (for the time this chip was cool, and easly overclocked)
486DX2 66mhz, Intel=C- (made after 1st pentium)
486SX 33mhz=D (math co-processor not included)
Pentium 75 intel=A-
Intel 8086 ~0.08mhz~=A+ (This chip was revolutionary!)
Intel Pentium Pro 200mhz=B (all modern intell chips are based on this.)
486DX4 Intel/AMD=C
Intel overdrive 100mhz=B+ (save a dying 486 temporarely)

Old: 486DX/2 50mhz = B (paid too much, was too slow compared to other stuff available it feels)
Cyrix PR166+ = C (FPU is so slow, and even the new ones still are, but it ran windows semi okay)
AMD K6-2 266 = A- (3DNow! baby! awesome to see the speed increase in Q2 and such, stable too)
Celeron 333@416 = A (Intel FPU, easy to overclock, fast as overpriced Pentium II, wonderful)
celeron 300a=A+ (Running at 450+mhz)
p-2 266=b (on my notebook)
p-2 266=b- (on another pc)

K6-2 300@350 B+
P133 B
I would probably like the AMD better if my mobo was easier to manipulate (FIC 503+). The Intel is the young-un's and soon I will teach him the joy of OCing.

Celeron 333PPGA A++ (Overclocked to 500 @ 2.05v)
Which one?
Ok:
ONE
P3-500 at 515Mhz (560 works, but not real stable) A+PLUS
Doubled my Q2 Crusher frame rate at 1024X768 with V2SLI and shadows on, compared to my Cel 300a at 464Mhz. ( 24fps to 49fps difference)
TWO
Cel300a at 464, TNT, desktop video not so great when dragging around open windows or using desktop wallpaper.
Plays games well! A-
Three
P233 at 266, not stable at 292. Good sys for server use (which it does by doubling as my Q2 server at 24.129.79.241)
Used to be my gaming PC. B+
Four
P150 at 150, good pc for visitors to play Q2 on with a single V2. C
Five
AMD K6-2 350 gets slower fps when overclocked! Q2 play sucks at Lan parties, with SLI even at 800x600, max fps of 38 under demo1.dm2
Good desktop window performance. C minus

PII 350 = B+ (I might be outta my mind cuz i just came from a PMMX 200...)
I wish i got a celeron instead of the $150 PII tho...Since im kinda adept at OC'ing (more like if i screw up i can change it back and pretend nuthin ever happened) =)
PII's are pains to OC
aint no fun running it at box value
but I can settle.....*sniff*

AMD K6-2 300@342 A+
(Only because this is my first attempt at overclockin' and I have had no problems!)
[This message has been edited by aratike (edited 04-29-99).]
I have a p2 350@467 and it works very well.
very cool, very fast(especialy from a 486Dx 66Mhz). Kinda hard to OC had to rase the FBS to 133. My MB gets warm but i think it's ok. It's overall proformance is pretty good I'll give it a B++ or A- (some where in there).
I'm thinking about the celeron 366a, suppost 2 bee great OC.

If one consider the fact that some are running close to 600MHz, mine is a poor baby!

Two systems...
Celeron 300a @ 450mhz... A, would be A+ but the Abit is a bit quirky at times.
AMD K6-2 350 @ 400mhz... strong B, with the G200 its not the best Q2 machine, but its excellent as my business machine

p1 166=B (overpriced but good for the time)
Amd 300 k6-2=b+ (price was right, was a noncxt core could not overclock)
Amd 450 k6-2 o'c to 504=a- (this chip rocks, does like to get a little hot even with a peltier)

486/DX2-66MHz *B* Slow, but mine was very stable, gives me lockups once in a blue moon, when I multi-task more than 3 programs
P200-MMX *A* Speed's just enough for me...

i have a k6-2 300@427 and 2.5 volts...i like it but the lack of cache slows it down sumtimes...b+
P2-266 oc'd to 360....um...b
not bad for a kalamith
Current:
Celeron 333@416 A- Its fast, but wouldnt get that far without a heatsink/fan that I purchased separately. Hence the -.
Older stuff:
p200mmx@225Mhz it was still satisfactory I guess, but I wanted more. B+
p133 C (short lived. Didnt keep long)
Cyrix p200+(150Mhz) F
The worse machine i ever saw. It would NOT do 150 mhz properly as it was supposed to, unless I had the case open. My father forced me to take it back, and exchanged it for the p133(they were the same price).
p75 B (Good at the time, kept it for over a year)
386 A (It rocked at its age, kept me happy for 2 years)
Amiga 500 A++( Talking ancient history now. But it was the best machine in the previous decade. It still lives through emulation in my pc.
