Just watch the topics and questions here! Itīs the very best way. You will also hear of problems you would never even dream about. That way you will learn all theres is to know and even more!
But first of all, make sure you have money enough for 100000000009 heatsinks http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You are not guaranteed 500mhz, you know? Some people wish they could even hit 400, but if you can overclock to 500mhz, here is the place for training, and any Post overclocking troubleshooting. By the way, if you can hit 500mhz, the easiest way to do it will probably be 112x4.5(if you did not use windows calculator to find this already)

Sorry Andre did not realize you were so easilly offended I did not mean for it to be an attack I just thought that is why I posted this message is to find the answer rather than search. I have some real questions for those that have done it.
O.k. Yes I have tried that, cobain, but my real question is the voltage what are some of settings that I should consider after I set my speed up there if it doesn't like that setting?

Thank,

Sorry BC, I overreacted a bit there http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
You didnīt write what mobo you are using, but if it is an Abit with Softmenu, then you can change the voltage in the bios. Try 2.2V, itīs the Vcore, and if you want to, then try 2.3. I wouldnīt recommend you to try 2.4 without massive cooling.
If you donīt own an Abit, then you can tape the pins on the cpu. I only know how do this with a slot1, so i hope yours is one. You have to tape pin: A119,B119 and A121. I did this myself and mine is doing wonders at 450. Taping these will give you 2.2V. 0.2 over the normal 2V.
Use tape that canīt, oh i am danish so i donīt know what itīs called, but it must not "lead electricity"! Thats the way we say it in danish http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I forgot to say that if you want to try out the BIG 112MHz, you should turn the RAM timing down to 3 instead of 2. Otherwise you can sure that your computer wont even POST.
How do you do that smilie with the open mouth :]

Ok because when I do try the higher clock speeds it doesn't want to boot up I have to go and clear the bios then start over. So turn ram timing down huh? Ok I'll give that a shot. Any other tid bits? :-D without the nose http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

if you wanna squeeze that last ounce of power outta yer cpu you should check yer heat... put a little thermal compound between yer cpu and heatsink. most people dont even think to try this cause they think its a waste of time. but usually this works. almost any cpu can get cranked just a little higher if you do this.

"two cents"

What gERONIMo says is right, but you can get even better cooling by buying another heatsink and put the smallest one on the back of the processor, but then againg you have to put tape all over the back of the CPU. I have done this myself and it works great. Just wont go over 450, but tonight or tomorrow i will file some of the CPU so its even all over the place. If iam not here to tell you how it went its cuzī it got a little out of hand http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
