Hi there, and thanks for reading. We'll, id bet people think im nuts for running 2.4 volts, but i have a dual fan heatsink on top, and a fan+heatsink on the bottom. The chip gets warm after games, but not as much so as my tnt. Problem is, everything is stable in windows, even all night, but when I play games for more than 15 minutes(halflife) the game either kicks me back to wondows with an error, or I get the blue screen. Is 2.5 volts completly insane?? hehe(i like to take risks, and i have a spare 300a)Im just wondering if this crashing thing is heat related(looks like it), and that would mean 2.5 would be a nono. I boot at 2.3....intermittently.Any experienc?? Ive also set my l2 latency to 15, and it helps stability, but it still crashes. Thanks for any advice!!

2,5V is dangerous, but it would not help, because your problem is temperature.

May I ask you to look at your spare Celeron 300A and tell me the face-value of R1 on the tray? I was searching more that month to know it. There should be three figures on top of the resistor. Please send in to me!

Veremount1 is right here, all increasing voltage would do for you is increase your heat. Kinda counterproductive...

Try running your system with the cover off the case, and a room fan blowing inside it. If games play smooth with that, you know its definitely a heat problem.

I think you should check your other hardware first and as 2Cool said heat can be an issue.I'm running a 300a at 473mhz on an ASUS P2B with no voltage increase. But I have my 3rd case fan blowing outside air onto the cpu.

Well, guys, call me stupid or crazy, but i went to 2.5 volts, and my games are completly stable now.Ive also turned my cache latency down to 7, so i guess this wasnt the problem. I ran the Unreal timedemo loop for a couple hours, and the chip didnt seem to get any hotter than before. I wonder how long this would last?? HEHE, stupid me, but 504 sure is nice!!

504@300 here too... for about..5-6 months ?
well anywayz.. only stable at 2.2.. up to a month ago too, when i tried 2.1..
then a couple'a days ago tried 2.1 again..
and its rock stable.. so i guess there's something about the burn-in story... give it a couple of months and crank it down to 2.4 or 2.3, cause 2.5 is toooo much....l8r

****, I could be a postal worker, but I am not as crazy as all of you! I wont push my P-2 above 2.3, my celeron never above 2.2!

Well, Intels published limit for the celeron voltage is 3.0 volts , and 185 degrees fareheit....so i figure, what the heck, i have an extra 300a 8)
