AMD K6 III Vs. Celeron?

Hi guys,
I think I really need upgrade my P55C for my 3D games, now I'm thinking on K6 3@400MHz, or Celeron @433MHz, which one do you think is better?

First, what are you running now?

Next, if 3D gaming is the main reason to upgrade, then the Celeron really is a better choice. Even more-so if you intend to overclock.

But my advice would be to keep saving your pennies until you can get an Athlon. You can put together a 500mhz Athlon system for dirt cheap. And the performance/price ratio just dominates any other possibilities. Especailly if you consider that 500mhz Athlon is almost guaranteed to run at least 700mhz with the 800mhz range a real possibility.

AMD K-6 3-400 unless you want to overclock.I have a K6 3-400 and happy with it. From the benchmark test I have read the K6 3-400 is better that the celeron 500.
On the other hand you could get an Athlon 500 or 550 for about $100 more.
