How do I get this working. MikeG 04-28-1999, 11:43 AM I just installed a BX6-2 with a Celeron 400 yesterday. CPU and case monitoring works great. Did you install the thermal sensor that was packaged seperately in the motherboard shipping box? You tape the sensor onto the heatsink, but not in front of the CPU fan. The other end plugs into RT2 on the MB. Roy 04-28-1999, 12:19 PM If you don't have the sensor, a 10Kohm thermistor from Radio Shack will do the same thing. The ideal place for it is embedded in the center of the heatsink. NiViK 04-29-1999, 03:05 AM i have a question... I just got the BX6 ver2 board today, and something strange happened... my old board was a gigabyte b686 and i oc the pii-300 (not celery) to 450 for 4 months just fine, but with this new board, nt 4 freezes in the bootup. i have tried most(i think) of the possiable settings and still no go... i even went so far as to reformat and reinstall nt, still no dice. i bought the bx6 ver2 because i heard all these wonderful things about it, but it kinda ticks me off that i get better results from a cheaper board that is almost 1 year old now... also..the PII-300 is one of the costa rica ones...the widely known ones that oc to 450 fine any suggestions would be appreciated.. I am about ready to just go and buy a real PII-450 just to make it work. Roy 04-29-1999, 02:13 PM NiViK - I have a P2-300 that I could never get to go beyond 350 on my BX6-1 or my BX6-2. Before you buy a P2-450 (mine goes 527 on the BX6-2) wait for some reports on the new Celeron 433 & 466. They employ 0.18micron traces instead of 0.25 and should go faster and run cooler. I was misled. The 433 & 466 are 0.25. Sorry. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/redface.gif They have the potential for 488/540/650(?) and 525/581/700(?) at 75/83/100MHz. Even better, the 433 OEM is presently available for $140! www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Roy (edited 04-29-99).] SysOpt.com
