I just started my own webpage, free by the way, http://sites.netscape.net/noresull/homepage
Can anybody give me any tips as to what I can do to make it more interesting, so it will want to be viewed more?

Thanks
John

Just do whatever interest you. Take a look at other members pages here. That could give you an idea. My pages are at geocities (http://www.geocities.com/jad1097/), first pages I did (http://members.home.net/mdevaney/) and millenium pics (http://members.home.net/jad1097/).
I just may move my Millenium pics pages over to netscape for the fun of it!
Hope this helps a little

Unless you have a specific purpose in mind for the site, then just have it reflect your personalities (whatever interest you). And keep it free of ads (personal opinion only). Here's my site:

You really have to go with what you know best ,A couple of things to remember it doesn't pay to be Robinson Cruso unless you are a very learned programer. There is a squillion places to get scipt and html on the web.
when you are browsing and see a page you like just right mouse click the page and veiw source (iexplorer).
If it's java script and doesn't show in the source look for the target of the java script in the source and search for it in your temp internet files ,it will be there.
Just one other little piont that I have noticed with beginers pages , They love to whack heaps of graphics and plug in's on their page .This takes ages to load on slower connections like mine.Find the balance between speed and looks !
Mine is fast but lacks the flashy graphics.
Suits me !

noresull,
I tend to agree with davem. Loading times are crucial if you want people to visit your site. As he said, find the right balance between speed and looks.

Here's a couple of sites you might find useful:
www.megawebtools.com (http://www.megawebtools.com)
hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey (http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey)

My own site is a tech support forum with a British flavour (you'll be sure of a warm welcome if you drop by - plenty of Americans and others there too!):
www.romulus2.com (http://www.romulus2.com)

Here's my humble attempt at a Software site. Got a (fairly) complete modem drivers section too.
