Straight shooting:

buy low in quantity - sell high

have a thick skin and be willing to hear a lot of that "What a rip-off/ I could get it for half that at so-and-so's" kind of talk.

Most importantly, be willing to take a huge loss on most everything and go out of business within 2 years...

Unless you do repairs, upgrades, etc. and build a excelent reputation doing it; service is where the money is, not resale of computer goods unless you do a huge volume.

~~you would be making more money reselling cars.

If your low on money keep your present job, go to local auctions and buy up small quantities you can afford then sell at swap meets, and on the net,( you will later on use these to offload old stock and new if you work right, when you do set up in your own Biz full time make sure you have real good medical and lost earnings insurance, or you will end up like me watching your bisz go down while you can't do anything about it, and you end up keeping your fingers crossed that you savings will keep you going till you can take over again.
