i'm about ready to try this. 1) is there anything specific i should do? 2) Also, is heat a problem? I'm considering spending $19 plus shipping for an internal heat monitor to keep an eye on the temp. 3)if i ruin my Pentium II, will Intel know I tried to overclock the chip? Thanks for your advice.
Usually, if you have a good cooling & did not over-voltage, your cpu will not die. If you increase your FSB too high, your other devices will likely fail - HD & Video Card.
When I overclock, I know that I am trying to use the cpu & other devices beyond the specs that they were guarateed by the manufacturer. If I kill any of my overclocked device, I have no intention of asking for a replacement. I have received some DOA parts before...I have no problem returning them.
If you are afraid that you might ruin your cpu, then don't overclock! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
