I have an older AMD-K6 233, which doesn't, I beleive, has a temp. sensing software. I have a thermometer attched to the heat sink as close to the center as possible, is this the best place for the probe, or is there a better place?

Also, what would a normal reading be without anything being done i.e. no overclocking, and no extra cooling (yet http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)

Thanks
John

Well, I use the same setup, basically. I have an AMD K6-2 400 @ 450 on a Soyo 5EMA+. My temp right now is 86.9 with room temp of 72.5. It really depends on the room temp. Mine fluctuates with it. I have had it as high as 93.0 but when the room was 76 or so. My ambient temp (before ocing was amount 2-3 degrees cooler on average. So I would say about 12- 17 degrees warmer than room temp. This is only a guess and my own experiences with my one amd processor. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
