I am using a FAB-12 (2 fan/heatsing) well tonight just for kicks I made some modifications to a socket 7 fan (no heatsink) and made it fit the rear of my 300a. It seems to be running 3-5f cooler. very little modifications to the fan and it fits nice and snug with only the fan to heatsink plastic clips attached to the FAB-12 rear clip. Do you think I can get better cooling with the heatsink attached?(this would require some modifications to both heatsinks and fabricating a new clip of some sort and covering the rear of the PCB with non-conductive tape.) Thanks for the input!
