If anyone out there knows how to overclock an IBM aptiva with an AMD-K6 300mhz processor
I would be eternally grateful for the help.
I am a novice at this so be gentle if you respond.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

I have a friend who owns an old aptiva 200 mhz pentium computer, and there is no way I am aware of to overclock it simply because it has automatic features which set cpu speed, and memory speed even...BLEAH...so unless they've changed, you're out of luck, however, if you have jumpers to set the speed like regular clones do, then just bump up the mhz some, and bus speed if you can, raising the voltage to 2.3 or 2.4 may be necessary to get stable, and be sure it is runnnig fairly cool, just like with any overclock.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif good luck

probably the best way to speed that sucker up is a better hard drive im not sure but doesnt it have quantum bigfoot i suggest a cheap on sale maxtor 2880 and you probably have on board agp wich means no agp port but you could put in a tnt or banshee pci and disable that ati rage ****.does it have sdram pc100 it should add another 64 megs for 128 total that will speed her up.
