From what I remember from before when I asked this awhile ago (same question) no one seemed to know of a way..but im not gonna stoop to sticking a 56k slow-dem back in my computer http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif but I will keep looking.

Why do you need an ISP to fax with a modem?

A regular fax machine does not need an ISP...neither do you!

Problem with a cable modem is you have to use a internet to phone dial system to dial a recipient fax machine number. Anyone find one, let me know!

Has anyone out there ever heard of www.efax.com ? (http://www.efax.com) You can get a fax number and receive unlimited faxes for free. They come as email attatchments. You can get a toll free number for $3 a month, or the ability to send faxes for $3 a month, or both for $5 a month(atleast when I signed up for it it was).

I use efax in my office. Darn handy. I use a dedicated phone line to fax and to Surf. On my stationary I list the efax number as an alternate fax number should the first number be busy. Very handy and I don't miss any faxes.
