I have tried to overclock my pentium 2, 266 to a 300. I have changed the jumper settings on my motherboard from 266 to 300, but whatever speed I change the jumper settings to, it seems to make my cpu go slower. One time I put it at 333, and it went back to 133, argh! Need help!

Did you use 3.0 Multipler with 100 FSB?
It is possible that you have the lucky CPU that are clock locked at a specific mult in which case your out of luck.

Out of luck unless you can change the FSB and leave the multiplier alone. Give that a shot. I have a P2 350 and it's locked, but I can easily reach 392 with a 112MHz FSB with the multiplier still at 3.5.
Good luck
Jumperless motherboards are nice too
