I was going to buy 200 shares of AMD back when they went down to $16 a share. Now they are at $35. Oh well.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

stock market=headache.
I feel for you guys,my retirement investments are tied closely to the nasdaq. last week, nosedive..bye-bye $6000. went back up today, just got off putnam's site, net loss$650 as of today. I really can't complain, up about 20 large over the course of the last year. Hey navy-dood, did they ever find out why the pilot had to punch out of his '18 around commanche? never heard anything more on the news.By the way, just down the road from you in burleson.I still go out off of 341 and watch those guys do touch-n-go's every now and then. Those guys have the ultimate hot rods! Getting to work on them must be pretty cool too, cause it's you guys who make 'em haul A!!

PIA My fortune is siting in someone else's bank account. I bought several shares of a stock about 7 months ago, doubled my money in 6 days, sold it. 5 months later it went from $3/share to $29/share. on secont thought, i dont wanna talk about it...

It wasn't pilot error or mechanical failure. Sorry that's all i can say right now.

Yeah working on them is a lot of fun. They are mech friendly. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

One company I'm watching, aside from AMD is BackWeb - symbol BWEB - saw their passive push technology at work - it's on all new compaqs - really amazing stuff.

My bro-in-law likes LVLT - level3 is building out a fiber network in the states and he's betting they will really take off in the future. I'm not so sure - Sprint will give everyone a run for their money -

So - I'm doing the mutual fund thing so that I don't get too many headaches. Let the fund manager sweat and research - just give me a relatively good return over the DJ average and I'm happy.

For those of you who are really into the environment, check out this one's prospectus - found it in consumer reports a few years back - DSEFX - Domini Funds - not a shining star, but has a good rating and is really soft on the environment for those who invest with a conscience.

I bought shares in AMD last April around the fourteen-dollar mark.

The reason? If my recollection serves me, the AMD engineers in October/November of 1998 computer show, demonstrated an over clocked prototype Athlon running at near one gig hertz.

I just wished I invested more on my hunch that AMD was poised to rise, I could have made a lot more money.
