BIOS

Hi, ive posted recently about problems ive had with my cd writer.Well even without my cd writer installed i still get the message that its ATAPI INCOMPATIBLE. Obviously its the setup that has the problem and not the cd writer.Has anyone got any ides on what i should do??

Try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults, then build up the system and adjust the BIOS settings for correct performance as you go along.

I have restored the settings to default setup, my computer boots up ok (slower than usual) Sometimes my cd writer shows up as a removable disk, sometimes its not showing up at all.

Now that you at least have the system running again. Try using this article I wrote last year to set up the various features of the BIOS.
