I'm fairly new at computers in general, and am curious as to where I can get books, publications, etc... to learn more about all aspects of computing, especially, programming, networking, and DOS,(basically everything http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ). Also, what books and such are recomended?

Thanks in advance, I really want to learn ALL I can, it is so important to me, as I hope to eventually get into the computer field!

Thanks
John

Hi noresull

I'm still on the basic books, which I think are pretty good.

For WinOS', the Microsoft Press Resource Kit books.

Hardware: "Upgrading and Repairing PCs" (11th Ed., Scott Mueller, published by Que) - also comes with a Partition Magic 4 and Drive Image 4 CD, which comes in pretty handy.

Online site for finding books: www.fatbrain.com (http://www.fatbrain.com)

MS Apps & Programming - real techy stuff: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/

Check out EarthWeb's sites too, on SysOpt's front page, they have some good good stuff in there!
