Hey, have you gone to update your drivers yet? Matter of fact, the latest drivers for the Lucent Win Modem are on this machine. Got them for my sister-in-law. E-mail me and I'll send them to you...
It's a self-extracting file that removes the modem, and then re-installs it using the new drivers. The date's 12/2/99. and the driver version is 5.66. If that's newer than what you have, let me know and I'll e-mail the file to you.
Good Luck In All...

DKay...Apartments in Jax do not 2 way have cable modems, even if they are located in an area that does have it. Most places are like that also, has something to do with cable routing in apartments inducing too much line noise. In some apartments here you can get one way cable...but that really sucks compared to 2 way.

Dynalink 1456VQH. Nothing beats an ISA modem for online playing (lower pings). Wish we hadn't installed a homefox at home, it really produces noise and I get a much higher connection speed at a friends house than I get now.

And it varies too, sometimes faster, sometimes slower.
I'm about in the middle from the limit of the telco - 1.5 miles, or about 7,385 feet. The adverstised ELN speed can be from 384 to 1.5 kbps, so looks like I'm somewhat lower than halfway.
Maybe it's time for a move...

Hey chipbgt yours is the same as mine. Isn't that odd?http://www.geocities.com/jad1097/speedtestfull.html
Hey Skywalker...notice yours is also the same as mine?
Also, I was surprised it came back that high...must have been a fluke. I normally score around the 5M/600K area, sometimes a lot worse too.

Jad,
I saw that after I posted http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif it HAD to be a total fluke, at least on mine. Im on a cable modem, but still, its no where near that in reality. I saved it though just for fun.
