I have a Pionex Manufactured system board with win98. System will freeze within minutes of getting to windows. Have already fdisked system an cleared out everything. Reloaded windows and added Ram to 256k. Still windows freezes. Suspect cpu clock set wrong. Manufacturer won't respond to emails for correct settings. Can anyone help. Board is Pionex M5ATD system board.

Maybe the CPU is overheating? Make sure the heatsink is set right. Also, make sure your mobo is not touching any metal on the case, and you "stand-offs" are all ok.. Not sure about your clock settings.

You might take out the old ram chips if you are still using them.
