How many emails did you send out in 1999? Use your mail prog to search for all messages between Jan 1, 1999 and Dec 31, 1999. No cheating! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif I sent out 10,524.

Do you count other than English language http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif and if so I had about 2000-2200. I have no accurate data because I can't reach my main e-mail provider anymore.

OK! I'll look stupid. Where do I get that info? I hope it's not the number of messages in the sent box. I delete them regularly.

IE and Outlook Express.

I guess I should consider myself lucky, I only came up with 557 in my search (I have no idea how many I've deleted or if they were counted in my search). This is since approx. October of 99 when I got this comp.
Nathan, In Outlook 5.5 there is a 'Find' button that will search all of Outlook using filters (not sure about earlier versions).

Factors involved with calculation:

1. Current installation of Windows 98 is roughly four months old.
2. Those who frequent the tech forum may recall I spent about a month with my main system offline.

Therefore this number is only indicative of a three-month period; however even with those considerations I managed only the meager sum of 243 e-mails sent. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I would approximate that I send between eight hundred and a thousand e-mails a year. A puny number compared to Scott, Mntsnow and others.

I would argue though that in shear volume of words I could come close to rivaling those who’ve posted their numbers. I’m a long winded, cant’s stop typing freak, who has several dozen e-mails that exceed a thousand words or more.

I’ve got to say something to save face. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Regards to All,

Well, I only sent so many in '99 because I run a sizable web site http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif. If I didn't it would have been much lower.

I'm at somewhere around 1800-2000 emails for '99. But what I corner the market on is ICQs - I've sent around 25k ICQs in 99. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

BTW, Zotzmein, I can tell you've never gotten a good, old-fashioned Scott email. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif We lovingly call them "novels" and for good reason. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I average about 15 a day - * about 2000 work-days - so I'd have to estimate about 30,000 a year. I don't send much from home.

Next question would be - how many of them were jokes........ I'd have to estimate about 15 to 20% of mine are passing on the better jokes that come across my desk.

At work just under 4500 going out and 8600 coming in (way too many http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif ) At home, maybe 600-700.

Axel,
How did you manage to work 2000(??) days in 1999. Please do NOT tell my manager how this was possible.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Well, in three months, the ones I saved in my inbox grew to 573, and I probably have about 400 I responded to.

Ya'know...I have no idea! More than I will ever remember (or ever care to).

I delete e-mails I don't need every few weeks when I re-install Win98 so I'm not exactly sure. I checked my important e-mail archive for 99. That one hit 5,600. Add in all the ones I threw away and I'd say 9,500- 10,500.

I went to my back up Zips to find out, for some reason they are all corrupted, looks like some one has been playing with my back up Zips and all my personal and Biz mail is non accessable http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif all I can tell you is that there were three Zip 100 with about 90meg each on, all masters were lost through virus attack just before Christmas http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif , If I known that backs were bad I would have tried at least to save the address book, now I'll have to re enter all addresses manually from hardcopy http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
If it had not been for this question I wouldn't have found out till I started back to work.

279 here.. that's since 4/1/99, so it's probably somewhere closer to 300. I think axel means he averages about 2,000 e-mails on work days, not 2000 work days.
