is this printer compatible with a gateway
windows ME COMP? i AM NEW AT THIS COMP. STUFF!!!this printer was given to me; the black ink makes slight lines on the paper according to the person who gave it to me.
I thought this printeeer woould be a backup
for my epson777 if it ever quit. Is it worth repair costs?

Its not worth trying to repair. You'd spend anywhere from $20-$60 more buying a new HP printer. Depending on which model you buy.
You can get an HP 842C from Best Buy for around $120, and around $80 through www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com)

I'm sure that ME can handle a HP670C. The black lines could just be a bad or dirty cartridge. Try it out.

Go to HP web site to find the instructions for cleaning. Print them then clean the printer
