Most of us hackers are very much hands on - we prefer on-line references and bookmark/favorite tags over printed text. As Egon said - "Print is dead" - Ghostbusters

Otherwise, the QUE book series is pretty good and Amazon.com is a good, inexpensive book store with user reviews and ratings.

Another good reference I've found is "Newton's telecom dictionary" by flatiron publishing. Lots of good info and diagrams.

What kind of books are you looking for? Maybe we can help you with that? What, exactly, are you interested in?

My favorite sites for books:
www.informit.com (http://www.informit.com) www.developer.com (http://www.developer.com)

You can read them online and for free.

might i suggest you try going to used book shop. Most computer books now adays can cost ya $60+. I just got a 1999 A+ cert training book for 14.99 used, list price was just over $80. If money is no object, i suggest a college bookstore.

Don't join a club..search out what you are interested in..then look for books that are recommended...you will end up with what you need with no hassles...
I can't speak for most but nothing beats a good book
