OK Here's the situation:

I used to use a POP3 email account. I'd set it up in OE5, and Hotsync would faithfully check my email for me and copy my inbox to my handheld without err.

Then I got a new email address (it's my college address so please don't tell me to get a different one) which seems to be based on the IMAP folder things. Now instead of downloading to my inbox the messages apparently are stored on some server somewhere and I access them, the idea being that no matter where I check my mail from my inbox will always look the same. Now Hotsync, not seeing my IMAP "Inbox" as the true Inbox, doesn't check new email nor copy my inbox over every time I sync.

I guess a workaround would be to check for new mail manually, then copy my inbox to the HD-based inbox, then sync and have my HD-based inbox copied, but that sounds like more trouble than its worth.

Can anyone help me out here? What I would like is for my new IMAP-mail messages to be downloaded straight into my HD-based inbox for speedy access, and for my Hotsync to check for new messages and sync my inbox just like it used to do with pop3. Is this possible with IMAP or am I swatting air?

Thanks

Ruahrc

Note: If at all possible I'd like to stick with OE5 or if necessary Outlook 2000, as well as sticking to the standard Hotsync software and the default Mail application on my handheld (BTW It's a Visor Deluxe)
