My university department wants to buy a Video Capture Card & Adobe Premiere. We want to be able to edit clips from videos and DVDs for English language teaching.

We have Endeavor AT-690Cs purchased (via Epson Direct) Windows Me; Pentium III 800Mhz; 15" TFT Monitor; 128MB RAM 20GB Hard Disk Drive; SiS630 AGP with integrated 2D/3D graphics

I'm looking at Pinnacle System's miroVIDEO DC30Pro which comes with Adobe Premiere 5.1 for $500 with an educational discount. The information I've read seems to imply that we need some sort of video graphics card.

Is our SiS630 AGP adequate for the task? If not, what kind of video card would be compatible with the DC30Pro?

Is there another/better Video Capture Card that comes with Adobe Premiere at about the same price? Other input would be welcome as this is a new area for me.

Thanks!

You may want to make sure the card has drivers to support the os you are using. I had this problem with a dvd decoder. I bought the thing and there were only drivers for 9x!! Had to wait months for drivers to come out so i could use the **** thing.

Does the DC30pro have tv-out??
Either way you got a bargain!!
