I thought that was just one of those "Don't smoke in bed" warnings, but it's one that I should have cautioned to... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

...imagine my horror when I was putting my cover back on, and then blood smeared on my case; didn't even feel the cut...thought I was playing too much Q3... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Same here. You wouldn't feel the cut at all, and then see blood all over the case a few mins later. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

One day a Gateway tried to take my finger with it. Hand slipped while taking out a network card, and my finger went in between yhe slot at the back where the back of the expansion cards go. My finger had been cut at both sides.

Well this isn't a history of how my computers attacked me. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Anyone else got any stories of their computers getting back at them?

Yea!

Those edges are rough. the cheaper the case the sharper the edge. I typicaly get the three middle fingers. I have gotten all five at once before. Man do they bleed.

I was popping a modem out of a Cheapie case about a month ago so I could free up a slot for a 10 base T card and set up a external modem solution. As I was popping it out, my finger slipped and ran along the right side of the pci slot, the metal bay where it sticks out, 3 inch gash, 4 inches deep, no blood untill i almost had the cover on, i felt the pain instantly tho. Reading your stories and renembering mine makes me queasy!!! excuse me while I... ut oh!

Then there was the god - dremel - with a high speed grinding wheel - also makes great vent holes.

Haven't lost as much blood to the case as I have to the dremel tool, but that's another story........

I lose mainly knuckle tissue to the cases in my life. Nothing that didn't scab over in time.

Do you suppose that in the absense of a warning label on these cases we could litigate like the old woman who spilled Mc Donalds coffee on her lap? You know she ultimately won $400,000 (it was something like $4,000,000 but the judge reduced it). Who would have known that hot coffee was HOT!? -duh!

Now just which case manufacturer might have the deepest pockets??? hmmmm?

You think the case hurts? I filled every expansion slot for a while, a dropped a screw in on accident, right after I grabbed it just bgarrely, I hit the power switch, it turned on, I pulled my hand out like I saw a cobra in there, must have had 20 little cuts from all those poke through solder connections in there! Now I unplug the computer before upgrading or throwing screws in. ****, did I blede!

Location: Right foot. Nice smooth curve that goes down through the middle of the toenail on my big toe and then proceeds across the middle of my other toes
When: 1983ish
Cause: Catching grasshoppers by slamming an empty coffee can over them whose top had been cut off around the SIDE. While wearing thongs. I missed a grasshopper. That toenail grows with a split in it ever since.

Location: Across the first knuckles of the fingers on my left hand
When: 1989
Cause: Holding a straight edge for a right-handed person while he cut drywall with a razor tool using his left hand. I was fast enough the first time he slipped. The second time I left a nice red polka dot pattern on the wall when I yanked my hand back.

Location: Front of left shoulder
When: 1980ish
Cause: Driving a mini-bike into a barbed wire fence. Did you know that muscle tissue has layers, and the layers really are like tissue paper? Hardly bled. Made a nice hole, though.

one of my computers baited me...

1998 - i had just recieved the upgrade version of win98. I installed it, and i had a practical peripherals modem. During the upgrade, instead of finding it as a modem, it found it as a new category called ppimodem. Needless to say, it didn't work, so i went to switch it with my other modem in my other computer. Hmmm ... they sure make it hard to remove these cards... okay, i know, i'll wiggle it out by pushing the OWWWWW!
My finger bled forever. That's right, i said forever. It never stopped and i died.
The end. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
