It never caught my attention earlier but in the manuel I see full-duplex up to 33K6 speed but half-duplex at 56K Flex (Rockwell). Why? Is this normal for analog modems (ISA and PCI)?. The modem is flashed to V90, will V90 make it full-duplex?

For 56K speeds both coppers are used for downloads. The half-duplex is needed to squeeze the extra out of the line. Remeber 28.8k is the true limit. 33.6k is a coding/compression thing. 56k is chopping of your arms in order to run faster.
BTW I own a 56k..., so I am not bashing 56k modems, but technology is technology... soon DSL will come to my area (Homer like-"mmmm DSL argghhhh....")
