Brother-in-law has a Cyrix 6x86mx-333 on a M%ATD board and Win98. Computer freezes up after very little use and no particular program use. I thought he had to much junk on it so we decided to fdisk the entire thing and then reloaded windows only. Installed 256k of Ram and it still will completly freeze up. He says that manufacturer had told him several years before to slow down clocking but he can't remember to what setting. Says that they came from factory wrong however he has no tech support left for free. Does anyone know what the speed should be or have another suggestion?
