I have an older version of McAfee virus scan, and I can't seem to update it off their website.

I was wondering if it would just be more worth my while to buy a different program or what?

Thanks

Have you tried the backweb? It's on their (my) cd.

It logs you on and delivers you update for the virus definitions, and the scan engine too! Look on your cd and check it out.

I use Norton AV 5 and AVPToolkit Pro (Win & DOS) http://www.avp.com/ . I really like the AVP DOS scan. Susan recommended this prog for ages so I finally got it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

We run McAfee where I work and I know for a fact that if the scan managers aren't updated, a virus can get through!

The inline patches (for NAV) need to be downloaded from the site - you can't get them through LiveUpdate.

At work we use Norton AV on our NT Workstations. At home I use Norton 2000 (had Norton AV 5) and also use AVPToolkit. I've used Norton for some time and just recetly got AVP because of all the trouble WW was having a couple weeks back. AVP was highly recommended here and I have found it to be very good. After reading a few posts I wonder if I should put Norton AV 5 back on. Any thoughts on that?

and nothing for PC-cillin 6? I continue to use PC-cillin 6, with free online updates for life. It has never failed me yet (only 3 viri so far, but glad it was there), but I keep it very up to date.
