LS120 Superdisc installation

Installation of the LS120 has presented a problem I'm not sure how to get around. The Secondary IDE is used by the DVD/CD and the CD/rewriter. The primary IDE is occupied by the IBM deskstar 40g ata100 with the 80 wire connector. It is( or I have read )that attaching the LS120 as a slave on the primary IDE occupied by the hard drive is
not a good idea as it can degrade the performance of both. Any truth to this, or does someone have a nifty solution. Thanks

Stick the LS-120 as slave to the HD

You don't use it often enough to interfere,
