Hello, this is my new (down under) country – Australiaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, more precisely – South Australia - Adelaide.
Well, after a couple of shocks, some new movies, temperature difference of 40 degrees (celsius) I am in my new country.
First impressions? F... and mate are the most popular words.
At first my wish was New Zealand/Auckland (I have some friends there) but under democratic rule of my father my choice is now Australia. I hope I will survive, anyway - there are 19.000.000 who live here so there must be some chances.
Couple of things to do – Internet provider (any advice from my countryman) and good site for ordering PC parts.

Medo just think yourself lucky, if you get fed up you can always go up to the Gold Coast and Brizzy, man now thats a place to live every time I have been there the weathers great, and plenty of work, I suppose it's Oz's L.A. with there Hollywood eqiv just close at hand. beside if you decide to take out Dual National status, you can hop over to Auckland any time an Ozzy no work permints etc. also you don't have far to go to the Blue Mountains if you are into the snow sports.
Best of luck in sttling in in the new home, and if you came from the northern Hem then the worst you'll have to grip about will be seeing the Stars upside down, and eating Christmas dinner in mid summer.
WW
PS if you have friends in Auckland they will now have an excuse to move to Oz ( most people here would love to live in Oz, though won't admit till you get some grog in them.)

Thanks Welsh Wizard,
Maybe is not a good place for that type of question – what’s wrong with New Zealand? I might understand my countryman, (they are unhappy anyway) but New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, so is it because of the isolation (today that’s not a problem) or something else?
I spent last year almost three weeks there.
