As far as i've heard aLi chipsets are the worst you can get. I've seen reviews that show DDR RAM has no performance gain over SDR RAM using that chipset.
The new SiS chipset for Athlons and DDR RAM is supposed to be the best and cheap too. Check out a review here: http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q2/010611/index.html
I want to build a system w/ A7A266, 1Ghz Athlon and 256MB PC2100 DDR....however I haven't seen much reviews on A7A266. Please advise if this motherboard is easy to install and reliable. Has anyone had problems? Thanks

I use a A7A266 on my newer setup (K7-1333 w/ 512 DDR) and it's stable as can be (Running WinME). Though reading through Asus's newsgroup, some people appear to have issues with SBLive!'s and other general issues.
Most of these appear (To me, anyway) to be overheating/ventilation issues which are easy to overcome.
The ALi chipset is (From what I hear) not the fastest thing in the world either, but considering I went from a K6-2 500 to a 1.333ghz, I don't think I would tell the difference anyway.. =]
