My dad rushed out last week to Costco and bought a flat of soupcans, 3 dozen applesauce, and a 2 GALLON JAR of pre-chopped garlic (that stuff doesn't keep very well, you know)! My mother was flabbergasted.

Boy, am I glad that the Apocalypse did not happen. Imagine squatting in a bunker with a bunch of people who'd been feeding offa that jar...

Anybody else have a story?

That's pretty good. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I wish I had a story but noone I knew here in SC went too far overboard. I think this is a first b/c usually S. Carolinians will run for the hills at the drop of a hat. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif You know we have to prepare for the race wars and those mad Democrats that pillage everything. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

My grandpa bought a generator for our house for his oxygen machine incase the power went out, anyway, after watching the news and saw that Indonesia, Russia and every other country east of us in the world made it without a problem, he didn’t even bother come to our house with the generator incase anything actually did happen. What a waste!!??

In my area the survival stores were sold out according to articles in paper. I know I'm gonna get me a sweet deal on a generator sometime this year...LOL http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

YEE-HAA! cheap generators and MREs a-plenty!
I bet alot of food banks across the country and around the world would reap the rewards of all the hype, I would like to think that all that food would be put to good use

How about some guy here in Ontario burrying something like 30 old school busses and welding them together, making a series of underground tunnels. They were loaded with supplies for Y2K. I don't think anyone actually used them though.
