I have the same setup, bigslammer. I don't know why, I just keep the dupes unchecked.

As long as you have 'blackd' and 'Blackice' listed in the Close Program dialog box(Ctrl+Alt+Del), BID works properly.

EDIT: Make that the BID dupes are unchecked. I have both PowerProfiles checked.. not sure if that's really correct ...

As far as I know,( someone correct me if I'm wrong) the reason blackd and power profile load twice is because the first load is a priority 1 setting that loads when windows starts. The other is loaded for each user who logs on. If you are the only one, you should be able to uncheck one of each.
Reboot and check to see that blackd loaded. (ctrl-alt-del) If it did and everything else works your fine, then your okay. If there's a problem, recheck it and uncheck the other one.
I use a free utility called Startup cop which works like msconfig, but better. It shows the priority and the registry entry. It allows enable/disable/and delete, if you want to completely remove an item from the list.
I have 1 pwr profile unchecked and no problems. I'll go in and uncheck one of the blackd's too.
If it works then you won't hear back on it. If it doesn't, I'll let you know to leave them both checked.

Well, I just tried it. As soon as you reboot it rechecks itself, so you might as well leave both blackd's checked. No biggie though, Other programs do that also sometimes. Mcafee antivirus does the same. It loads two profiles also, and if you uncheck one, it re-checks at start up.

my power profile and my pccilline-6 dos the same thing i think it has something to do with boot before windows since both are checked in bios. Heres a good one though sometimes when you disable something in system confgers startup and activate it by using the item it puts a new entry in startup too get rid of double entrys check mark all or at least the double entrys and reboot. windows automatically gets rid of double entrys accept afore mentioned. try it!

I have both power profiles unchecked and the only thing that is checked is system tray and dnet client....the rest I load when and if I need them...doesnt seem to hurt and my start up is fast...like under 45 sec to final desktop...I leave it one 24/7 except when installing etc....
