I had this drive working, I had both of them set-up under DMA under their settings tab. Recorded two backups and then went to record something else and it came up with the same problems that was happening before. So i went and checked the DMA settings and the one for my CD ROM is set but the one for the Recorder is off, so i checked it and restarted windows and checked it again, and its off..can someone please tell what the heck i'm doing wrong here?
I had the same DMA box unchecking occur with my DVD drive after I added a SCSI CD-RW. Turned out after reloading the OS that as soon as I loaded the SB-Live drivers the DMA box would uncheck itself.
The real problem was that when I added the SCSI CD-RW, the SCSI controller wanted more I/O resources, and took them! Leaving insufficient resources for other apps, and the DMA controller had resources that the SB-Live was willing to take over.
I fixed it by going into bios and disabling my second serial port, freeing up it's I/O resources.
