hey,

as my stupid brother went away for 3 weeks, the prick decided that he would shove this password on his system (the only burner/dvd in the house). Just to spite me!!

Anyway, the password comes up after the bios checks all the hdd's and the dvd-rom and stuff, then the "enter password" comes up.

If i press delete and go to the bios, the "enter password" comes up before you can do anything in bios. Can someone tell me please how to get rid of this **** thing! or if this is impossible, how can i put the burner& dvd into MY machine and replace it before he comes back without him knowing.

Windows will crack up after he comes back if it relises that some hardware has been taken out and replaced won' it..? cheers

Prick or not, its his machine, and I suspect he protected it with a password for a reason...wouldn't you?..

I hate when someone leaves and i cant get into thier computer either..

Although my posts are not ethical. Just think, this will ensure his prick brother will simply take the Harddrive with him next time...Isnt that why we post exploits? To tighten security??

the computer will work...but...he will know its cracked.

That should teach your brother to install PGP or Windows2000 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Hello, America!

I'm calling from Singapore. Don't have anything to contribute to the problem.

I'm concerned about the language of the posts. Let's be sensible here. We don't have to be crude or vulgar to get our point across.

In any case, I think the owner has a right to password-protect his machine. It's his prerogative.

Shame on you, scripteaze. You're not suppose to help him break the code.

Parts of this thread are a very sad, sorry commentary on ethics and moral bankruptcy.

Even if you can disregard the disparaging terms used by one brother
against another, how can anyone justify offering this bozo any help?

It seems safe to presume that "bushlawyer" is a name that is completely
indicative of your total lack of ethics or any sense of morality.

Without his explicit permission, how can you even imagine that this is proper behavior?

If you don't know how to do this without help, you are probably too stupid
to do it without screwing something up, even with instructions.
Frankly, I hope you do, and your brother stomps you good when he comes back.

As for those of you that offered the help, you're as bad or worse.
You will probably also laugh at the brother, if he comes to this forum for help
with any problems you helped create. I'm sure if you secured your own systems,
you wouldn't want someone else to post ways to get around it.
Will you also post links on how to crack passwords, or get a virus started?
If this involved casual friends rather than brothers, would you help anyway?
Where do you draw the line?

I really hope the moderators see this and delete the links and suggestions.
This is just barely different from posting warez or a crack.

Many thanks to Bovon and Michael for speaking up.
I suspect we three, at least, know who is the real p***k in this scenario.

The owner of the box has a right to protect it! I have an entire list of passwords that I will not give you.

I can't even believe any of the members here would even offer to help you knowing why you want those passwords.

Guess what, "bushlawyer"?

I don't like your language, and I suspect your brother put the PW on his comp specifically to keep YOU out.

I, too, in light of the context of bushlawyer's post, find it disconcerting that ppl would help.
