I want to know if my Win 2000 and Linux system will run faster on dual 466Cel even if the program or game does not support SMP. I mainly use my computer for gaming, hosting TFC and Counter-Strike Server, 3d modeling and Half-Life mapping.

Any new info on dual would be apreciated.

Does any of you guys run dual cel on the BP6??if so tell me your perfomance gain.

if you only use Notepad or vi, probably you won't notice there is any difference. Otherwise the difference is real...

for non-smp programs, if there is only a single process on your system, there is no difference, the whole maybe even slower, due to the fact that some resource has to be allocated to manage SMP.

fortunately, there are a lot of processes will run at the same time, at the present time, there are 32 processes on my system...

even for those non-smp process, there is more cpu resource for them to abuse, up to a single CPU, well, almost... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

My system, 2x520Celery @ BP6, OS: NT4 Server.
