It boots me into normal mode and all my personal settings are missing! How can I get things back to "normal"????? BTW...I ran the dick repair utilities and it said it found a couple bad clusters and copied the data from them to another spot. chaz 07-11-2001, 08:17 AM Update: I think the problem is a corrupted NTUSER.DAT file. Is there a way to recover this file???? solo-pc-tech 07-11-2001, 08:42 AM I think you best bet is to log on as a new user and recreate your settings. Each user has a folder under Documents and Settings and each has a separate NTUSER.DAT file. I backup the entire Documents and Settings folder to another hard drive where I also keep my data files.
