Due to a couple bad clusters my Win2K PC won't load my user settings. It boots me into normal mode and all my personal settings are missing! How can I get things back to "normal"?????

BTW...I ran the dick repair utilities and it said it found a couple bad clusters and copied the data from them to another spot.

Update: I think the problem is a corrupted NTUSER.DAT file. Is there a way to recover this file????

I think you best bet is to log on as a new user and recreate your settings.

Each user has a folder under Documents and Settings and each has a separate NTUSER.DAT file.

I backup the entire Documents and Settings folder to another hard drive where I also keep my data files. This way only application data is stored in Documents and Settings.

Sorry about the double post. I only hit the submit button once.
