Does PRiary HDC error mean a problem with the hard drive itself or could it be the mobo as well?

Double check the cable connections and orientation. Try a new IDE cable. Then try putting the HD by itself on the Secondary IDE channel and see what happens. But what motherboard is this and how old? How is the BIOS setup for HD? SILMARILLON 07-08-2001, 08:27 AM I wish i knew it would make it alot easier. I can't access the bios at the moment there is a pasword that i cannot seem to get by but i will try what you said thanks SysOpt.com
