That's not uncommon for IDE, some have Pin-20,... some don't), but I don't recall ever seeing missing pins or plugged connectors for floppies connectors.

I am putting together a system with an Abit mobo. I noted that ALL the pins are present on the socket for the floppy cable on this mobo, but one of the sockets is plugged on my cable. Looking at the other 2 mobos I own, both are missing the same pin on the socket for the floppy cable, and that missing pin corresponds to plugged socKet on my floppy cables. What gives?

Sounds like Abit forgot to take the pin out.

I've seen floppy drives and boards without this pin, so I think it's OK.

You'll either have to dig out the block on your cable or CAREFULLY cut out the offending pin.
