Windows\Temp\ folder, what can I delete in here?

Okay I have all these files and folders in my Windows\Temp directory and I was wondering what I can delete out of here. There are stuff I see that I can delete but there also these _istmp0.dir folders. Can I delete these?

I remove everthing in my temp folder once a month, but I do it with Windows not running so I don't disturb it too much. It is normally just leftovers from installs/crashes/etc.

Delete EVERYTHING. I clear mine out about every other day or so.

At http://www.tweak3d.com they have code that you put in the config.sys or autoexe.bat to empty the folder on start up.

you can delete every thing in there BUT read on to the note !

Note : you do not want to delete the temp files If you HAVE JUST INSTALLED a program untill you have rebooted the system as most if not all programs write to the temp file during install and some still need to read the temp files after reboot to complete the insallation so it is best to reboot your system at least 1 if not 2 times after you install any type of program before dumping the temp files http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
