Is there really a difference in quality when purchasing CD-Rs? Are some better/worse than others?

In my opinion, no... Major brand and generic have both worked fine for me... It's not like I'm gonna keep the CDR or CDRW media for 50 years...When I begin to see scratches on the surface, that's when I quickly burn another copy.
