First, Happy New Year to everyone!

How many of you eat cabbage on New Year's Day for prosperity in the new year? We always have corned beef and cabbage. I know some people who cook it with a silver dollar in it, :p

Any other New Year's Day traditions out there?

Yep, black eyed peas is what I was always forced to eat but I think that is just an old tradition in the southern US!

Our family has a nasty habit of eating Collard Greens and BE Peas for New Years. Not a favorite in my book. My tradition is to see the bottom of as many glasses of stout as possible before the clocks rolls over.

I'll take whatever I can get around here.
Oatmeal for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly for lunch and who knows for supper.Just glad to feel well enough to participate again
But you have to have Green Beer with the corned beef and cabbage on St. Paddy's Day and a pint of Bushnell's to settle it all down.

Pickel, sound like we’ve been to some of the same Saint Patrick's Day parties.

Every since I moved from Chicago to Oklahoma, Saint Patrick’s Day just hasn’t been as special. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Glad your feeling better, I've missed your cheery repartee.

Regards,

It's Black-eyed peas for us; corn beef and cabbage is reserved for Saint Patrick’s Day.

Cabbage, how 'bout sauer kraut? That's what I was always forced to eat as a kid. Now I like it, so..........

Happy New Year
