Howdy everybody.
I am hoping that somebody here may be able to help with my Problem.
I have a Quantum Atlas 9.6 gig LVD drive.
Controller Tekram something or other.
I was having some problems with the hard drive that spanned a few months and data that was supposed to be writing was not, the OS (windows 98) was saying that data had been saved, but the next time I look data is gone......
ect.
I decided that probably the best thing to do would be to do a Low Level Format (this was suggested to me by several folks that use SCSI on a daily basis.
I entered the controller bios, and told it to LLF the quantum.
it never finished the format, I know not what happened, but the drive did not report a complete format.
Now the card sees the drive for what it is,
but the drive never sends a start command (I think that is the error) and i can never get the OS back on.
I contacted the Place that I bought it from, and they never told me that the drive was OEM when I bought it, (and Quantum wont replace it for me either)
So I turn to you - Can you help, or do I have a very expensive paperweight?
Thank you
