Yup, 24hours of it, that's how I like it.
I must commend CBC Newsworld's spectacular ongoing 24hour coverage of the global event as they took place hour by hour, especially Peter Mansbridge who brought us the coverage for almost 14 straight hours. Congrats to Peter.
Man'0'Man, those fireworks were one heck of a show weren't they?!
I must say that I was stuck to my Television set for 15 hours straight, except when I went out to see my own city's firework celebrations.
The best firework displays of all I must say is Paris, with all those beautiful explosions coming out of that tower of theirs, it was just spectacular.
Another great show put on was in New York, where despite terrorism fears, reportedly about a little over 2 million showed up.
I don't know about you guys, but I thought that the fireworks put on by many of the Canadian provinces was lackin' a bit of "awe inspiring" experience. I guess we just don't have the budget.
Now that the millennium celebration is over, the world is in one big mess, and the challenge of cleaning it up before Monday working day comes is gonna be interesting to see.
I believe the real Y2K test is when people get back to work on Monday and see if anything strange pops up.
This 2000 New Year's is certainly the one to go down in the books of many people as the most anticipated, most world-wide publicly celebrated event, most happy moments, and most awe inspiring moments of all time, despite Y2K and terrorism fears.
Of course, the message that the world has brought to us and our government is Global Peace, Joy, and Happiness.
Happy New Years everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
