I wonder how many think it's all over now? I may be wrong, but starting monday and tuesday the real test will begin. Here's what I'm talking about;

1. Proprietary software that is date sensitive. It was installed many moons ago. I'm referring to machinery presses, etc. A lot of that is all computerized now. If the BIOS is off, improper dated production dates will be forwarded to other systems. Spreadsheets that allow only 2 date fields for the year. Many companies did little because they thought this is all hype. Well, they will find out now.

2. Accounting software that wasn't updated or has a glick in it. Doesn't matter if it's a small company or large. Who knows. You might get a bonus or raise in your next pay check (hehe) or a demotion.

3. Date sensitive documents like for attorney's, etc.

I'm not saying the sky is falling, however, enjoy the weekend and just be prepared mentally that if any of these things happen or you hear of them happening on monday or beyond, you won't be too surprised.

Good points, Nathan. I don't think we are *necessarily* out of the woods yet. Think the dust will settle by around Feb. 1?

Though I wouldn't mind a good glitch in the accounting software http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

And you know what's going to drive us crazy? It's going to be finding the program(s) or file(s) that are causing it. We will certainly find out if all these patches work and if the so called Y2K complaint is actually true.

It could be a very busy week(s) or even month(s).

Yep! We here at work have locked out all of our oversea's servers and are running all the follow-up tests to make sure all the SOFTWARE is now doing what it's supposed to do since the HARDWARE passed the test http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif So you are correct Nathan...Were not totally out of the woods yet!
