This is a wonderful site, but my IE302 keeps returning a "Microsoft JScript runtime error [Line: 47] 'Image' is undefined" error on the homepage and several others at this site, slowing viewing considerably. I have the lastest MS java VM installed. Any ideas?

The script that makes the buttons turn red when the mouse cursor moves over them uses a function built into newer browsers called Image(). If anyone knows where I can get that function, so I can just include it on the page for older browsers, please let me know.

I hated to leave IE 3.02 for the dreaded IE4.0, but I was getting errors too frequently. The first version of IE40 installed Active Desktop without even giving me a choice - it was horrible. I uninstalled it and went back to IE 3.02 for a while, but then I was lucky enough to find a copy of IE4.01 on the MS Office97 -Small Business Eddition CDROM, and that version gave me a choice NOT TO INSTALL Active Desktop. That version of the browser works very well and I have no intention of migrating to IE5.0 as long as it does.

Recently I was convinced to give Netscape for Windows a try and I am glad I did. It is not intrusive at all to Windows operating system and runs faster that IE in most cases. I had to download and install the 40bit encryption version of Netscape first, in order to download the 128bit version (so I could do home banking) because IE would not download the 128 version for some strange MS reason. I have tried Netscape 4.5 Communicator and it is great, but I prefer Netscape 4.08 - which doesn't have all the mail and other communication features and therefore loads much faster and seems to display web pages a lot faster too. There is also a "Smart Update" feature that helps you find and download the latest plug-ins.

With IE4.01 and Netscape 4.08 everything works fine for me

- now...if only while using "BeOS" and when running "Net Positive" browser the buttons on Sysopt's main page would turn red when I moved the mouse over them......
-edit-
I did it! I downloaded the latest version of BeOS's "Net Positive" and Java works on main page...but the buttons turn white - well at least they turn something http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Currently I'm using IE5 and Netscape Navigator 4.08. 4.5 is terribly unstable, and 4.51 was worse! So, I'm typing this now on IE5 and using Eudora for email. You really should give IE5 a try. First, active setup is great, only having to download and install what you want, and second, it is much faster than Netscape and quite stable. I've been a Netscape evangelist since 2.0, but I was knocked off my feet with IE5. I was stunned.

BTW - I downloaded the 128bit Netscape 4.08 browser with IE without a problem...go figure.
