Formatting Hard Drive on Win Me

I want to reformat my hard drive and I'm running Win ME but I can't do it because windows says that the drive is being use by another process. Can anyone help me out?

are you trying to format while running windows??? if so, and you only have one C: drive, you need to format the drive in dos.
boot with a win98/ME start up disk, load with cdrom support, format youre drive, then run setup off your cdrom...........

i wouldnt worry too much about using fdisk and partitioning your drive if its the same one.........(same hard drive that is)

If you can get "Disk Wizzard" or the HDD manufactures hard drive software it make formatting much easier.
I think Western Digital has the best disk tools.
