I am interested in overclocking My Dell Dimension XPS T 850 Mhz PC (Intel OEM SE440BX-3). I understand the 100 FSB can be increased to either 103 or 124 only.

Anyone having a similiar configured PC with favorable results, please tell me how to proceed.

Thanks in advance.

I may be misunderstanding your post, but are you saying that your BIOS for external clock option only has two options? 103 or 124 ?

This Intel OEM m/b (Dell specs) has those two options (with software changing FSB). I confirmed this with Dell's newsgroup (DellTalk).

Thanks for responding.

i just put a p111 850e on my bx board and can run it stable at 110 fsb (935). prior to this i was running a p111 450 at 124 fsb (558). tried the 850 at 124 and couldnt even get it to boot. so i ran it back to 110 and it runs great. you can probably get it to run at 103 but i doubt it will run at 124.

good luck

Yeah, same here. I'm running my Dual P3 850Mhz @ 935Mhz. 8.5 X 110. The best I was able to do with these 850's is 997Mhz (110 x 115). It ran perfectly stable with all applications, but failed the 3DMark 2001 test. I would just run it at 115, but just knowing that it crashes even on a single application bugs me. I like my systems running ROCK STABLE...

Thanks for your reply.

How did you set it at 110? What software did you use?

Actually, the mainboard I use which is ABIT VP6 has FSB settings from 66Mhz to 150Mhz. I don't use any software...

Unfortunately, my Dell PC has an Intel OEM m/b. This m/b only allows for software overclocking (at 103 and 124 FSB ONLY).

Any other Dell owners have any success with FSB overclocking?
