I downloaded and ran the prgram and it said I failed the RTC rollover. All of the other programs I have run said I was fine. I think it might be set up incorrectly whether it is intentional or not I do not know.

Seemed legit to me.

Downloaded it & it said my system was 100% Y2K compliant.

This Y2K checking software also wiped out my BlackIce Defender. Had to reinstall it. Doh!

Here are some additional downloads that you can test with to see what they say. You also have to pay for the fix codes for the first link.

YK2 First Aide (http://www.y2kfirstaid.com/)

Free Y2K Test (http://www.cfinders.com/y2k/compare.htm)

CMP Net (http://www.nstl.com/)

The above link gets you to the main site, the download is here:

Failed Rollover test. Spent too much time learning to sit and play dead.

I guess my machine wont last after the New Year.

Here is a simple solution to your "rollover problem" posted by Nathan at his site:

eHelp Tech Forum (http://www.ehelpfree.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000025.html)

There are free programs out there that will tell you if your BIOS is Y2K. If this program tells you it won't rollover but is complaint, then simply just turn the PC off on New Years eve, and reset the date in CMOS on New Years Day or after. You can also set the date ahead of time. And then adjust the date after the new year.

I posted this in my Y2K boot disk thread, but will repeat here in case it's not seen there...

When running my Y2K tests, a certain system test (don't remember the name) failed, but when I went to Control Panel, Regional Settings and changed the 'short date' style to mm/dd/yyyy, then it did pass, You can double check to make sure in win.ini.

EDIT: This info from BBA --> http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003227.html

daveleau - strange!? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif It had no effect on my BID... I ran the test from ZDNet.

Let's hope they ALL work! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/redface.gif

I have tried a few different programs, and most of them say that all my systems fail the RTC rollover - tried it on Chaintech 6BTM, Microstar 6167.

But some also proide suggestions, and all the suggestions for this failure, say to just switch off the computer right before midnight, as Windows makes a mess of the rollover - BIOS wants to go to 2000, while windows wants 1900 or something like that I think.

I tested some programs on Win2k RC2, RC3 and Final. They all pass. This is on the same motherboards, so, as socalgal said, it is a software problem.

So, I'm going to switch off my systems just before the rollover and, hopefully, pow3er then back up at 00:01.

8hr 45mins left here. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
