I just flashed my BIOS and Win2k keeps locking up. I had occasional lockups before i flashed my Bios, but now, I can't use the computer for more than a minute after bootup.
My CPU temp hovers between 46 ~ 51 celsius... the weather's gotten real hot the last couple of days (90 Farenheit)and I have no A/C http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Could this be it?
Thnx for all the help.

The heat might not be helping and the CPU temp is high but doesn't seem critical as yet. If you're concerned about over-heating open the case and get an ocillating fan to keep the air stired up in the immediate area. I would suggest that you turn your machine off, unplug it, dump the CMOS with the appropriate jumper, then go into your BIOS and set the option for default settings. In other words, set it to it's lowest operating mode with the proper CPU clock and multiplier. Then see how it runs. If it runs more stable for a while then you can start changing the settings again but keep track of what you do so you know what it is that is causing the problem.

thnx for the suggestion. i tried to reformat my harddrive, hoping that it would in some miraculous way solve all my problems. (recently, formatting had become a habit, because i couldn't get the computer to work just right) but unfortunately, the computer froze during setup, so i will have to try to clear the CMOS and try reinstalling Windows. Thanx again for the tip.
