Not a whole heck of a lot of info here, cuz' i didn't have any problems installing my dual processor system.. Not sure which mobo you've got there is better, I'm using Abit's VP6, and lovin' it! Windows 9x does not support dual processors, and only supports up to 512MB ram, so you'll need to upgrade to Win2K in order to get the dual processor power, and more ram if you've got it!..
It doesn't matter which PCI slot you install your PCI cards into, the computer will find each one, and assign a unique/(shared if necessary) IRQ to each card
Installing the 4-in-1 service packs are done under windows, on your mobo cd, you should find them on there under probably the drivers directory.

I'm also using an ABIT VP6 W/P3 @ 945Mhz, 1GB PC-133 CL2 RAM and I'm quite happy with the performance of this mainboard.

Just keep the PCI next to your AGP open so the AGP doesn't share resources. It'll help video performance. For benchmarking purposes only, of course http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Hi
I am striving hard to make a dual processor system but due to various problems, I am unable to do so and had to go back to single processor based system. During last one month, I tired many ways to overcome the problems but was unable to do so. My questions are given below and seek your assistance if you could address the solutions to the same point by point.
1. Which is a better mothernboard ASUS CUV4X-D or Tiger Tyan 200?
2. I tried both the motherboards but was unable to keep the USB devices working. Problems which I faced were are;
- USB Modem stops working (the power of it goes off on its own) without any obeservable time.
- USB WebCamera stops working (the power of it goes off on its own) without any observable time.
- Similarly, USB Printer, USB Zip Disk and other USB devices.
- I also tried to connect these devices through the self powered USB Hub to check the power issues but the problems remained there.
- Also had problems in playing MP3s...skips the music while reading from the hard disk.
My system specs are given at the end of this thread. I would also like to hear from someone on how to prepare a system from scratch for Dual Operating System i.e. Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98 SE. I would like both of my operating systems to load from SCSI HD. I would also like to hear from you a step by step instructions on how to proceed on preparing system under each Operating System like sequence of installing Via 4-in-1 Drivers, Windows 2000 Service Pack, Drivers of installed cards, which PCI slot for which card.....
Please ! Please ! Please help.......
